Typical Me...

So as most of you know that when I decided to do something spur of the moment, I dive head first without looking. So knowing I was coming to New York to be a nanny, I wanted to get my little girl a present. So I got her two outfits, but then her mom told me that she had so many clothes that she would never wear them all,(and she was right I have put away so many to small clothes that she has never worn that still have tags on them) anyway so I decided to make her a quilt. Now this is not a hard thing to do but of course I got overly excited and wanted to do a quilt I have never done before, and lets just say it didn't turn out. So I went to plan "b" and decided to just make a regular square quilt. However I made the blocks really small, they are 2 1/2 inches square, I was crazy to do this because I only had 3 days before I was leaving for New York. So lo and behold I worked my butt off, and I did finish it and it doesn't look to bad. My boss was impressed, but she can't sew a stitch so anything would impress her, she is so funny. So here is the finished product, I just loved the colors.

That must come from the Weaver side since I am famous for doing the same thing. The quilt is beautiful. I too love the colors, in fact I am making each of the girls a rag quilt for their twin size beds and one of them pick one of those fabric and another picked another one. I will post pictures when I am done but don't plan on them till Christmas this year. The way I am figuring it it will take 126 squares for each quilt. I am doing larger squares of course.

Actually this started out as a rag quilt, and the squares were just to small and it didn't look right, so that is why i had to change it.
